Glass wool belongs to a category of glass fibers and is an artificial inorganic fiber. It has good forming, small bulk density, thermal conductivity, thermal insulation, good sound absorption, corrosion resistance and stable chemical properties.
The rock wool board is made of basalt, and the artificial inorganic fiber processed by high temperature melting has the characteristics of light weight, small thermal conductivity, heat absorption and non-combustibility.

  1. Glass wool and rock wool board produce different raw materials and processes
    Centrifugal glass wool is used to flow the melted solution through the drain plate and into the centrifuge. Driven by a high-speed centrifuge, the centrifuge rotates the glass into a thin glass flow. Under the action of a high-temperature, high-speed flame, the glass flow is further drawn into fibers, and then an atomized binder is applied.     The rock wool board product is made of basalt as the main raw material. After high temperature melting, the inorganic fiber is made by high-speed centrifugal equipment, then special adhesive and dustproof oil are added to the felt by the swinging belt and the fiber arrangement structure is changed by special equipment. Finally, The new lightweight insulation material made by curing and shaping can be processed into rock wool board, rock wool seam felt, rock wool shell and other products according to different purposes.
    2, product performance is different
    Glass wool has lower bulk density, less slag content, lower thermal conductivity, longer service life and higher fiber toughness. However, the highest temperature of rock wool is up to 600 degrees Celsius, and glass wool is only about 260 degrees Celsius.
    3, the product uses different
    Glass wool is generally used for insulation parts below 200 degrees Celsius. It is mostly used for the insulation of general buildings or low temperature pipes. Rockwool is generally used for insulation parts with a temperature of 500 degrees Celsius. It is mostly used for the insulation of high temperature heat pipes or electric equipment.
    4, the product weight is different
    The mechanical strength of rock wool is greater than that of glass wool. Rock wool is the material of choice for thermal insulation of modern exterior walls.
